Coco's Soul Destroyer Guide

Howdy! Today I will be talking about Assassin Cross using Soul Destroyer/Breaker.

Understanding Soul Destroyer

The formula for Soul Destroyer is as follows:

(INT*5*SkillLvl + Random(500~1000)) + (((ATK*SkillLvl)*((100-Enemy DEF)/100) - Enemy VIT) (Elemental Modifier)

As you can see, the damage is made up of 2 parts: Magic/Int based and Attack Based. To understand it completely lets break it down into 2:

Int-Based Damage:

The int based damage for Soul Destroyer is (INT*5*SkillLvl) with a random damage of 500-1000 applied on top of it. Here is the damage comparison with different amount of int (I am assuming lvl 10 Soul Destroyer):

Damage per Int: 50 (+500-1000)
Damage with 1 Int: 50 (+500-1000)
Damage with 99 Int: 4950(+500-1000)
Damage with 99+25 Int(Buffs and Gears): 6200(+500-1000)

Facts on Int-Based Damage:
  • The Damage cannot miss with flee. Even if you are aiming an MVP with Agi-Up using 1 Dex, this part of the damage will always hit.
  • The damage doesn't follow any element. The damage is constant to every element i.e Ghost, Holy.
  • The damage ignores MDef. Monsters with High Mdef i.e Elder, Baron take full damage from this part.
  • The total int from all the gears is taken into consideration(even the weapon on left hand).

As you can see, will such advantages, int should be your main focus. The fact that it ignores flee and Mdef makes it amazing at killing monsters like Dracula(Agi-Up) and Dolor of Thanatos(the red ones with Agi-Up).
With ~120 int you should be getting 6-7k hits on all monsters. This surpasses skills like Falcon Assault and we haven't added the physical part yet!

Physical Damage

The physical damage follows: (((ATK*SkillLv)*((100-Enemy DEF)/100) - Enemy VIT) (Elemental Modifier)

As you can see the physical damage is based on ATK and gets reduced from enemy's Def.

Facts on Physical Damage:
  • The damage takes total ATk into consideration except the weapon equipped in left hand. The base ATK from the left hand weapon is ignored. However, ATK cards(Zipper-Bear) put in Left-Hand weapon is taken into consideration.
  • The damage doesn't take STR into consideration, but try to keep the strength in multiples of 10s for bonus ATK
  • The damage is reduced my enemy's def. Hence, monsters with high def(Apocalypse, Golems) takes very low damage.
  • This part of the skill can miss with Flee.
  • The damage is affected by elemental modifier. The damage will miss or gets reduced depending on the element of the monster.
  • The skill takes the element of your Right-Hand Weapon. The element on your left-handed weapon is ignored. Endow overrides the element of the Right-Hand weapon and takes higher priority.
  • The skill doesn't take any % modifiers i.e. (20% racial cards, Sign, Medal of Honors, Volcano)
  • Weapon special effects from Left-Hand weapon take priority over Right-Hand Weapon. For Ex: If you have Ice Pick in Right-Hand and Exorciser in Left-Hand, the effect from Ice-Pick gets ignored.
  • Deluge and Volcano affects the Physical and Magical part of the skill.

With all the limitations, the ATK takes second priority to INT. However, in rare cases(using IP and Def ignoring weapons) the physical part can surpass the magical part of the damage.

Build

Str
Str doesnt directly affect the damage but adds to the ATK. Keep it in multiples of 10 to receive the bonus ATK. Your cards and equips should focus on increasing Int and ATK. 70-90 Str is ideal unless you are building your SinX for something special like Beelzebub.

Agi
Unless you are going for an Agi-SBK build, it should remain at 1.

Vit
You wont be tanking and you will be on Devo during MVP runs. Keep it at 1 unless you have extra points.

Int
Your primary stat. Try to maximize it to get the best possible damage. 120-130 should be your aim.

Dex
This is a tricky one. I prefer having it at 60. This gives an acceptable cast while soloing. If you are always under Bragi, you could lower it to 50 or 40. Remember to ask for Marionette Control while doing High-End MVPs.

Luk
Keep it at 1.

Equipment

Weapons

Elemental Sword
The best sword for SBK-SinX. The 4 int, 2 str and 1 dex gives you an amazing boost and has 3 slots to hold your cards! It is quite hard to get, but definitely worth it.

Haedonggum
My favorite weapon. It is amazingly cost effective and is almost as good as elemental sword. You can start with NPC ones and slowly upgrade them to 2 slotted version when you have the money. Also, try to get the elemental version to boost your damage.

Ice Pick
Very situational. Use it left hand when facing High-Def monsters.

Exorciser/Dragon Killer/Immaterial Swords
Same as Ice Pick. Equip in off-hand for optimal set-up.

HeadGear

Crown[1]
It gives 1 int and a slot. Doesn't look bad either.

Tiara[1]
Same as crown.

Jewel Crown
Until you can get your hands on a slotted int headgear, you can use this as a filler.

Hat of the Sun God[1]
The best headgear for SBK SinX but its very very difficult to obtain.

Armor

Diabolus Armor
Quite an end-game armor, but it gives 2 Str and weighs only 60.

Thief Clothes
The best affordable armor. It weighs almost nothing and can easily be obtained and enchanted.

Valkyrian Armor
Quite situational. Use this if you are facing MVP with high area stun (Doppel). The heavy weight makes it unsuitable for regular PVE.

Elemental Armors
If you can afford to slot them, go for it.

Garment

Wool Scarf
The best affordable armor. You really don't need anything better and can spend your money elsewhere.

Diabolus Manteau
Pretty good if your guild is camping Satan Morroc.

Goibne's Spaulders
Since you will always be standing at range, you can use these until you farm your Raydric/Noxious.

Footgear

Tidal Shoes
Cheap and works well with Wool Scarf.

Diabolus Shoes
Good combo with  Manteau.

Accessory

Bradium Ring/Earring
These rings give the best damage. However, they might be hard to find if you don't have episode 13.3.

Earring[1]
Best choice if your server doesn't have New-World.

Ring[1]
The most affordable option.

Cards

Weapon

Zipper-Bear Card: The best weapon-card for SBK. Each card increases the damage by 300(reduced by def) .

Andre Card: If you cant afford Zipper, use Andre Cards. It increases the damage by 200(reduced by def).

Centipede Larva Card: If you want to focus on Int, you could go for these on your weapon. Each card gives you an additional 50 def-ignoring damage.

Head-Gear

Elder-Willow: Cheap and the best card which give +2 int.

Armor

Porcellio Card: The best card for for armors. This gives you an additional 250 damage.

Pasana, Swordfish....: These elemental cards can be used while fighting specific monsters or using Deluge/Volcano buffs.

Garment

Noxious: This card is preferred  since you will always be standing at range.

Raydric: Use raydric if you are trying to solo and need some extra damage reduction.

Shoes

Fire-lock Soldier: The additional Str boost can help you achieve the next bonus. Try to upgrade the shoes to +9, if you require the HP bonus.

Eggyra: If you are having SP issues, switch to Eggyra for increased SP regen.

Accessory

Mantis: The best card for accessory. Each card gives you ~60 damage and also helps you reach the next Str bonus.

Leveling Guide

1-99 Sin

You can follow my Grimtooth guide or the Sonic-Blow guide to get your Assassin to 99.

High Thief (Job 1-50)

I highly recommend leeching yourself using multi-client since you will be putting most of your stat-points in Int. Leveling a thief with 20 str and 40 dex will be quite challenging. You don't have to go all the way to job 50, you only require Steal, Hiding, Dodge and Detoxify.

SinX(Job 1-15)
Continue leeching your Sinx until he unlocks atleast lvl 7 of Soul-Breaker.

Base 60-70

Once you have unlocked SBK, you can endow your weapon to wind property and kill Siroma. They give quite a good amount of exp and are non-aggressive.
Alternatively, you could try killing slow moving monsters like Blazer, Myst-Case, Explosion, Kaho etc. Remember to use flywing immediately to avoid taking damage.

Base 70-99

I highly recommend finding a priest partner. With Lex and Magnificat at your disposal, you can 1-hit almost any monster with less than 15k HP. If you have a Bard friend, bring him along to make an awesome adventure team. Here are the list of monsters which can be 1-hit with SBK:

Raydrics, Dryads, Goat, Khalitzberg, Penomena, High-Orcs, Stings, Turtles, NineTails, DragonTail, Peach Trees, Cloud-Hermits, Tamruan, Niff-1, Snowier, Venatu, Apocalypse, Alice, Bio-2 etc...

If you want a bit of a challenge, you can try killing harder monsters using Safety-Wall. With Bragi, you could also try more challenging dungeons like Thanatos 4+, Mini Valk, Odins 2 and Majorous.

Here are few screenies from DOM with my friends:
