Coco's Thor Dungeon Guide - Part 1 (Solo)

Heya! and welcome to my Thors Guide.

Since this is my first dungeon guide, I am planning to write it in the following manner:
  • Part 1 consists of a short introduction followed by analysis of each monster and solo guide for each level.
  • Part 2 will contain a detailed party guide for all levels of the dungeon.
If you have any suggestions on the layout of the guide please post them in the comments.

Thors Dungeon

Thors was introduced in Veins Episode and is one of the High-Tier Dungeons in this game. It consists of 3 levels and most of the monsters have Boss-Status on them. Almost all the monsters are Fire-Property and deal very high Magic and Physical Damage. The 3rd level has a MVP named Ifrit which is pretty difficult to kill unless you have a well geared and experienced party. Thors Dungeon gives very good exp and has nice drops.

Contrary to the popular belief that Thors requires Pasana, the only skill which Pasana helps reduce damage is Fire Breath used by Kasa. Apart from that, most of the skills are physical and should be tankable using Sanctuary on the party.

Useful Drops from Thors: Burning Bow, Piercing Staff, Lucius's Fire Armor, Orlean's Glove, Meteor Plate, Thorny Shield, Sniping Suit, Platinum Shield, Doom-Slayer, Salamander Card and Knocker Card.

Monsters:

Kasa

Kasa is one of the main mob in Thor Dungeon. Its has a very good exp/hp ratio and is one of the fastest mobster to get you to 99. It hits pretty hard and some of its skills are instant death if you are not geared properly. The 2 main skills you should be worried about are Spiral and Fire Breath. Fire Breath is the main skill which kills the party due to very high attack. However, with Valk Shield, Assumptio and +4 gears, the damage should be around 8-9k which is easily tankable using Devotion.
Kasa has a very high Mdef and hence you should get a piercing staff or use physical damage skills against it.

Skill-Damage(un-geared):
  1. Fire Ball: 700-1000
  2. Meteor Storm: 1.8k per hit
  3. Sight-trasher: 1-1.5k
  4. Spiral Pierce: 16-17k
  5. Fire Breath: 32k

Imp

These are a more friendly version of Kasa. They deal half the damage as Kasa and do not have high damage skill. The give roughly half the exp as Kasa. Its a good mob to focus if you are new to Thors.

Knocker

These are found on level 2 and are non-aggressive. They are easy to kill and give average exp. People generally avoid it since its a pain to get to level 2. Kill them if you require Thorny Shield, Elven Ears, Earthen Bow or the Knocker Card.

Salamander

Another high-end monsters. It gives really good exp but has ridiculous damage. It is very difficult to tank even with steel body. However this monster takes very high damage from Storm-Gust and hence, you should utilize Quag and SG to the maximum.

Skill Damage(un-geared):
  1. FireBall: 200
  2. Sonic Blow: 73k
  3. Defense Disregard Attack: 10-11k

Knight Guardian

A very difficult mob to kill and has completely useless drops. It will most likely 1-shot you with spear boomerang and each hit does 7k+ damage. Avoid it unless you are killing it with party.

Skill Damage(un-geared):
  1. Shield Boomerang: 28k
  2. Multi-Stage Attack: 17k
  3. Shield Charge: 8k

Bow Guardian

Similar to Knight Guardian, but a bit weak since its attacks can be blocked by Penuma. It has a chance of dropping Orlean's Glove and Sniping Suit which are very valuable. Kill it using Penuma+Asura or Defender+Shield Boomerang(linked).

Byorgue

A weird monster. It doesn't drop anything useful nor gives any good exp, but it summons a Sword and Bow Guardian every ~10 sec. This makes it very useful to farm Orlean's Glove and Sniping Suits. If done right, this monster give the highest exp/hr in the game and is one of the best mobs to leech your guild alts.
Byorgue is mostly killed with party and I will write a detailed guide in Part 2.

Ifrit

A High-Tier MVP. I will write a detailed guide on it later.

Thors Level 1:

Level 1 of Thors gives awesome exp if you can solo it. On a 10x server, each Kasa give ~500k exp. So in total you only need 200 Kasa to get from 98-99 as a non-trans. However, only Hunters, Whitesmiths, Paladin and Lord-Knights are able to solo efficiently. Almost all the above classes except the Hunters require Assumptio to survive the damage from Kasa.

  • Hunters/Snipers

Hunters are probably the easiest class to solo Thors. Just use ankle snare and spam DS until Kasa dies. Orc-Archer Bow and Water-Endow is highly recommended. You can use charge arrow against Imp to keep them away.

  • Whitesmiths

Probably the best class to solo and leech others. Their kill rate is very high and can bring in a lot of exp/hr. The only downside is Zeny. You will keep draining good amount of zeny while spamming CT and potions. However, since your kill rate is around 2-3 sec, you will not use as many potions as a LK or a Pally. The Fire Armor, Burning Bow and Staff of Piercing pay back the CT zeny in a long run.

  • Lord Knight

You will need a pretty decent gears to solo Thors 1 on LK/Knight. You definitely need a Pasana and Raydric to survive the damage. There are 3 ways to kill a Kasa using a Lord-Knight:

    1. Spiral Pierce

Perhaps the easiest method to kill Kasa. Spam Spiral and Whites until Kasa dies and Tele.

    2. Pierce

I prefer this build over Spiral, since you have a faster kill rate. The only trouble is that this build fails if you want to do High-End MVPs will your guild/friends.

    3. Bowling Bash

Use this build if you have godly equips and have good amount of potions. Mobs 3-5 Kasa and Bowling Bash to death. It is more efficient if you do it with instant spawns which will be covered in Part 2 of this guide.

  • Paladin

Its is quite easy to solo Thors using Shield Boomerang. You can also use Defender and kill Bow-Guardians in Level 1. The only thing I hate about this build is the amount of times the shortcut-key has to be pressed to kill 1 Kasa.

  •  Champion

Champions are used to camp Bow-Guardians in Thors 1. Although, I prefer Paladin over Champions, it is a lot quicker to Penuma-Asura and Bwing.

Level 2

This is a more relaxing level in Thors. It mostly has non-aggressive Knockers with 1-2 mobs from Level 1 and 3. A sustainable character is preferred here as getting to Level 2 after Inn runs can be quite annoying. Hence, the best classes on Level 2 are Hunters, SBK SinX, Arrow-Vulcan and Spiral LKs.

 Level 3

Soloing Level 3 is all about maintaining distance from Salamanders. The most efficient class is Sniper. Using good gears, you can try killing them with Spiral LK.

  • Sniper

Similar to Level 1, use ankle snare and Double Strafe them to death. Crit snipers are the best to level here as you don't run out of sp as often as DS Snipers. Be very careful, a single touch from Salamander will send you back to town.

  • Lord-Knight

The only type of LK to solo here are the Spiral-Pierce type. Use Water endow and keep your distance from Salamander. If done right, you should be pulling good amount of exp/hr

That is all for Part 1 of the Guide. Part 2 is gonna take few days, since I still have to figure how to take screenshots keeping 7 clients open :P

    1. Its just to help you with SP. I usually keep my int at 40 on a shield boomerang Pally. Feel free to switch stats to whatever you are comfortable with.

  2. Sir what do you think of the executioner card on the shield
Adding 1 def and 25% less damage from formless monsters?
I'm pointing out that an increase in def even 1 because in can affect on the damage of the Guardian correct?
