Hi everyone! I decided to make this guide to help to people here in RO empire. And I have not been around since 4 days ago! My computer got a major breakdown. Good to be back!
II. Introduction on Prototype Builds
So, what is a prototype build? Well, it is a build which was pattern to make other builds. Since knights can be flexible they have different kinds of builds but all pattern on 3 main prtotype builds.
These are the SVD build, Hybrid build and the Agi build. So these are the mother of all builds. You will pattern from these three and make them your own kind of build.
Please take note that there is no perfect build meaning that one will always have advantages and disadvantages. A build can be better in pvp while the other can be better in pvm instead. So I will name as many kind of builds pattern from these three, name the ups and downs of each.
Please bear if I skip any build but I will only skip a build that is not worth it like a member here has an idea of a spear crit knight or even a 99 str/99 luck build. I will not go into these insane builds because it will have many disadvantages rather than advantages plus it is not worth it.
Note: As I state down the builds, take note that I will only include job bonus so that you can adjust it to your liking. BUT I will include the green boots since this is an essential item. Also the HP,SP, hit, flee and atkspeed will be self dependent meaning there is no help from other equipments. Like mocking, berserk pots etc. But the hp will have a boost because of the green boots.
III. SVD knight
So, this first build mainly concentrates on three stats. These are str, vit and dex. With str and dex as your offensive stat while vit will be purely your defensive stat. This build is design to take on every field of RO, pvm/mvp, pvp/woe. With str you can dish out alot of damage while dex to hit your opponent with pin-point accuracy. Making every hit count. Plus high vit to sustain your life.
Mainly there are two builds that pattern from the SVD build. The 60 dex and 70 dex.
60 dex build
str 92+8
agi 9+3
vit 80+10
int 22+0
dex 54+6

0 stat points left.
HP 16673
SP 374

Flee 111
Atkspeed 164.3
Pros:you got 100 str which is standard. 90 vit, very high. dex is ok either. You will deal alot of damage plus make them connect with the opponent. You won't have a hard time dealing with agi opponents. In pvp/woe have a triple ancient bloody pike. Hey, the extra 20% is a huge amount. Plus won't have a hard time leveling either.
Cons: Even though with that much dex, you won't hit very high compared to 70 dex build. Since assassins have a huge amount of flee compared to your hit rate also other agi characters.
70 dex build
str 92+8
agi 9+3
vit 70+10
int 26+0
dex 64+6
luck 1+4
0 stat points left
HP 15796
SP 386
Hit 169
Flee 111
Atkspeed 164.7
Pros: Ok, this build will definitely rock. With insane dex of 70 you can use a double bloody double ancient pike instead in dealing out with agi opponents. Plus you will hit monters with high flee also especially mvp monsters. With 70 dex you can kick butt. Note also that you have a higher int compared to the 60 dex build so more spaming pierce.
Cons: Now, the downside of this build, the vit. You will need to sacrifice vit in order to have dex.
Now, debate....which is better? the 60 dex build or 70 dex build? Well, this is just a matter of opinion but I do believe there was a thread that started this debate also. With the 60 dex build you will have more vit while 70 dex build, more dex. See that pumping a stat more will make another stat suffer. So pick which one you like.
IV. Hybrid knight
Now, this build will definitely concentrate more on the defensive side rather that the offensive side. How? First, str is always high but the dex will have to suffer big time. While the defensive stat, agi/vit will shoot high.
There are mainly 6 builds pattern on this prototype build.
First str>agi/vit
Second agi/vit>str
Third str>agi>vit (death hybrid)
Fourth str>vit>agi (death hybrid)
Fifth str=agi/vit
Sixth str>vit>agi (dread hybrid)
The first two builds have both agi and vit at the same level while the other two builds will make a defensive stat more superior that the other one, also known as the death hybrid build. The last build will most certainly a pure hybrid because the stats are even out.

Pros: This build is solid. With standard str and dex you will deal enough damage. Agi and vit are equal out. Thus defense is wicked. With high flee plus defense you will most certainly rock. With miss and minimal damage you are a survivor.
Cons: The downside is that, when you have many strengths in other fields you have weaknesses as well. You won't rock in pvp because of high dex characters. With that low agi you can't depend on plus low vit you will die in the hands of them.

Cons: The downside is that a turtle is hard rock but will also be harmless. With low str and dex you won't be doing any decend damage. This is the only down side of it.

Pros:Ok this build is good mainly on pvm. Because of the high agi and str. Not to mention decend dex as well. Vit 40 is decent enough but if you want to go 50 then adjust it with your equipments.
Cons: The downside of it is that it won't be any good in pvp. Because of the low vit and dex. Dex, because you won't hit the agi characters. Vit is low falling to the hands of dex typ characters.

Pros:Ok, this build will rock in the pvp section. Not to mention pvm as well. With vit of 90 the same as a SVD build you will have longer life plus defense. Also agi of 40 is decent for atkspeed plus dodge of low dex characters. Speaking of str, 100 is standard.
Cons:The downside of it is the low dex. 40 dex is not enough for high level monsters and pvp, agi characters. So, resorting to quadancient or elemental pikes. Not bringing the full potential of the 100 str. But it only apply to agi characters and high level monsters. As a matter of fact, there are few monsters with high agi.

Explanation
Ok, this build is new started by lotur so I will not list any pros and cons (maybe a little) but not seperated since I haven't try this out yet and I have never encounter this type of build so this build is somewhat a variation to the SVD knight of Mr. Forever (MVP). Both builds have a little amount of agi but that is where the similarity ends. Because this builds has little dex compared to the SVD knight. The pros is that it can take on every possible type of build a knight has. On 1 on 1 basis plus the equipments are the same and level. So in regards to build versus build the Dread knight is the winner. The only downside is that the low dex but in regards to pvp this is not a problem just use a quadancient pike. In regards to pvm and mvp we do have a problem because this build is the type of pvp/woe not on mvp and pvm. You will see alot of misses in a battle against a high level monster or mvp. Also, the minimum damage will be lower than your maximum damage.
This build goes to lotur.

Pros: An all-around good build. The is definitely a hybrid one because the offensive stat and defensive stats are both equal. Being good in pvp/woe, and pvm/mvp. Also 50 dex is enough for hitting those agi characters, using mummy cards plus monsters as well.
Cons: If you have many strengths then you have many weaknesses as well. Being a hybrid one you won't have any specialty. Being flexible is good but you won't be doing the best in any aspect of RO (pvp, mvp etc).
V. Agi build
Now, the last build there is. The agi build, focuses on two stats. That is str and agi. This build will dominate the monsters in every way, pvm or mvp. Also dex is needed to hit those high level monsters. Thus hitting hard, hitting with accuracy plus hitting fast. Take note that in the agi build
There are two builds pattern on this concept that is the Pure agi build (original) and the agi/luck build. Now I will explain each build.

Pros:Ok, this build will surely rock in pvm. With insane agi and str those monsters will be dead within seconds. Making leveling much more easier. Also dex is similar to the SVD build, making this build suitable for high agi monsters.
Cons: Now, this build as I said is PURE agi. Meaning no vit. So this will suck in the pvp section. Since there are alot of high dex characters, being dead in a matter of seconds. woe is not an option either because of the very low def and life.
Note: the 1 vit can be remedy easily by including bonus equipments like ring of mustle etc thus can pump vit to 30. If above 30 then you will follow the death hybrid build instead the pure agi build.
agi/luck build

HP 9828
SP 310
Hit 129
Flee 189
Atkspeed 175.6
Pros: This is similar to the pure agi build but with a few modifications. CRITICAL ATTACKS. Now, what is critical attack? It is a luck attack that ignores flee and defense making it hit hard and always hit. Making it a much better one than the standard attack. Plus it can go woe. How? being the most needed position of all, the empbreaker. Because it can crit thus much more better chances in breaking the emp faster.
Cons: Unlike the pure agi build, the agi/crit build most pump both dex and luck. Why? because the knight can't crit like the assassins meaning knights won't crit always so there will be standard attacks appearing instead of the red ones. So with only 1 dex those standard attacks will miss so dex is needed. This is the downside. Luck and dex are inversely proportional. When dex is high luck is low and luck is high dex is low. But luck can be 1 while dex is high but not 1 dex high luck.
VI. Customizing your build
This is the fun part. Being able to customize your build to your liking. Making that build do well in pvp instead of pvm and the likes. In making your own build do not listen to anyone who discourage you. This is your build so you will see it to your liking not for anyone. Before I say some tips let us first discuss the stats.....
Str - This is an offensive stat. This is a must need for dealing out huge amount of damage. What is a knight if he can't deal damage? Str apply to all aspect of RO (pvm/mvp, woe/pvp). Making it a must need. This should be divisible by 10 with ALL bonuses (equipments and job bonuses).
Applicable: All builds
Agi - This could be both offensive or defensive. How? offensive because of the atkspeed, faster atkspeed means enemy gone within seconds. Defensive because of the flee it gives. Don't know what divisible it should be but I guess 10 is good enough.
Applicable: hybrid and agi builds
Vit - This is purely on the defensive. It gives defense, immunity to some status changes plus HP. So this is a must need for knights. Since the nature of knights is defense and being the last man standing. Must be divisible by 10 also.
Applicable: SVD and hybrid builds
Int - This one can both be offensive and defensive. Offensive in a way that you will need int to spam skills and pump your mas SP. Defensive because of the mdef it gives. I think it must be divisible by 6. You should pump this only when you have excess points.
Applicable: All builds
Dex - This is for offensive purposes. It ups hit rate which is needed to counter the flee of the opponent. Atkspeed also making it essential for agi builds too. Dex also pumps the atk. This is an essential stat. Making it much easier to dominate the pvp ( agi characters ) and pvm/mvp because some monsters have high flee.
Applicable: All builds
Luck - This is on the offensive side but it can be on the defensive side either. Why pump luck? because of one thing, and that is the critical attack. Crits ignores flee and defense making it much more powerful. It must be divisible by 3.
Applicable: agi/luck build
Now that I discuss the stats, we will proceed on what to do in order to make your own personal build.
1. List down what do you like
Now, what do you want in RO? pvm? pvp? these questions will help you decide what build is suitable for you. Do you pvp often? or want fast leveling?
2. Check the prototype build
Now, you have what you want. Check which prototype build that apply to your liking. The SVD, hybrid or agi buiild. Here is where you will pattern your personal build.
3. Understand the concept
Here you chosen already the build you will pattern. Now, understand its concept. What is that build for? what stats it focuses? You should understand the prototype build in order to pattern out effectively on what build you like.
4. Modify!
Now that you understand the concept. You now have a guide. Modify the stats to your liking. Want more str? dex? Tweak with it as you like. Make it unique but never go astray from the original build. For example you will follow the SVD build, then modify....then it turns out to be more of a hybrid build. So you won't get what you are looking for. Also in modifying it you should also consider the equip bonuses.
Let us have an example: This is a SVD, 60 dex build
str 92+8
agi 9+3
vit 80+10
int 22+0
dex 54+6
luck 1+4
Now modifying it plus include equip bonuses....
str 96+14
agi 9+3
vit 90+10
int 1+0
dex 34+6
luck 1+4
Equipments I use:
clip of mantis (2)
green boots
So, as you see I lessen dex to 20 make str to 110 and vit to 100. The concept of a SVD build is that Str, vit and dex is high. So I lessen dex but it is still enough plus make str and vit very high.
5. Ask for opinions
Now you have your build so ask for opinions. It is not hard to ask a person to see if it is good. Making people judge your build, listening to them you will see some flaws in it thus remodifying it.
VI. Conclusion
Now, knights have a wide variety of choices in regards to builds. But always remember that there is NO PERFECT BUILD. There are some builds that have strengths and weaknesses. Don't come crying when you say that your build didn't do well in pvp and such because you can't dominate RO. This is what makes Ragnarok Online fun. Learn from your mistakes and make a better build.
Note: I know I have many grammar errors because I am from the philippines. Also, why was Cerberus banned? I was away from RO empire for quite some time. Good to be back. Hope this gets sticky. hehehehe.

Hope this gets sticky. hehehehe.
