UPDATE: June 30 2006
Alright, I updated a second high priest build into the guide, Hope you all like it
My rant: (dont need to read this)
Alright, Since I have been cruising the forums I have noticed 2 things, people insist that ME priests have no need for vit... WRONG... I am not saying that builds without vit will be unsuccessful, Im just saying that builds with Vit are more versitile... I mean If you look at it like this, a build with no vit has somewhere around 5000 hp at lvl 99... low low low... A build with only 50 vit has around 7500 hp. Thats an increase of 50% or more depending on your equipment. So why do people insist that vit isnt needed for ME priest? because (V)averick's stickie says so? /pif... yeah right... I agree with alot of what mav has in his stickie, except the stats.... so I made my own!
Rant #2 A MUST READ!
If your a first time player, GO TO A DIFFERENT SECTION... A priest is a bit of a complex character, especially for a new player, so I suggest you go look into the theif or swordsman sections, the good old Point and click way of thinking suits a new player well. few skills to deal with too
Ive been contemplating a FS/ME priest build recently... Only big difference would be the stat build since the skill pre-reqs for ME take up most of the priest skills...
Cast Time Info
Alright, It is well known that ME is one of the SLOWEST cast times of all spells in RO... 15 seconds... thats right, 1/4 of a minute to cast it... I know lvl 99 knights in WoE who have died faster then that...
No Phen Build 1 Cast time: 30% of 15 is what? 4.5 seconds... which isnt bad... most monsters in GH prison will only be able to get 1-2 attacks on you in that time, but if they hit, your cast is canceld... So, GET PHEN....
Phen Build 1 Cast time: 40% of 15 is 6 seconds, not too bad, 2-4 attacks from monsters... which isnt too bad and your vit will help alot, In mob conditions of 4+monsters you will need to cast a saftey wall first before you even think about casting ME
No Phen Build 2 Cast time: Dont bother making build 2 if your not going to get a phen, thats like asking to die...
Phen Build 2 Cast time: 50% of 15 is 7.5 seconds... slow right? right... So, how do we make up for it? 70 vit, you have it for a reason. Together with a Safety wall you should have no problem surviving a small mob in most conditions...
Build 1:
Int 99+21
Dex 85+17 (85+15 using earing+Phen glove combo)
Vit 42+8
Luk 9+7
Agi 1+16
Str 2+15 (extra point)
Stats are with Bless 10 + agi up 10
Equipment:
Weapon: Tri Vital Staff (for vit bonus to hit 50)
Sheild Cranial/Brutal/ect.... Buckler (use which ever you need)
Hat: Erudite Biretta/hat/ect... (any +2 int hat)
Armour: Hard Saints Robe (because with fledged shoes you get more of a bonus then with a peco peco card)
Robe: Immune Muffler (no kidding....)
Shoes: Sohee carded shoes (forgot prefix) or Fledged Shoes (extra sp is always useful)
Accesories: Nimble Earing (for int + dex addition) + Phen Earing (for int + Phen addition) OR Earing + Phen Glove
That leaves your middle and lower head... Pick something to go here... I suggest Opera mask, its cheap and 2def is always nice, if you can afford Eru Sunnies, GET THEM.. this will free up your top or your accesories for some good needed deff equipment
Pros/Cons
Pros:
-Able to take a few hits, and have higher hp then a pure ME Priest
-Lasts longer taking hits then a pure Dex/Int ME priest (although it takes longer to cast)
-Able to tank lower levels
-7k-8k HP
-30% cast time, which isnt too bad (got this number from the iRO stat calc, not sure if its 100% correct)
-40% cast time using Phen card
-Able to do both ME and FS in most situations
-Able To solo Easyer then a pure INT/Dex ME priest
-Due to the skill costing blue gems, they are very important, so why waste em on Safety wall against for instance one loli ruri.... Now you dont have to
Cons:
-Not able to tank higher levels like a FS priest
-slower cast then pure int/dex ME priest (ME priest with 120 dex has 20% cast time)
Build 2:
Vit 62+8
Int 99+21
Dex 71+19
Luk 9+7
Str 1+15
Agi 1+16
Stats are with Bless 10 + agi up 10
Equipment:
Weapon: Tri Vital Staff (for vit bonus to hit 50)
Sheild Cranial/Brutal/ect.... Buckler (use which ever you need)
Hat: Erudite Biretta/hat/ect... (any +2 int hat)
*Middle headgear: Erudite Sunnies
Armour: Hard Saints Robe (because with fledged shoes you get more of a bonus then with a peco peco card)
Robe: Immune Muffler (no kidding....)
Shoes: Sohee carded shoes (forgot prefix) or Fledged Shoes (extra sp is always useful)
Accesories: Nimble Glove + Phen Glove
*Note: the Eru sunnies are highly suggested for this build since it will be harder to get 120 int without them and still have 90 dex...
Pros/Cons
Pros:
-More Versitile then Any other ME priest build (other then a pure vit/int, but whos stupid enough to do that?)
-Able to Tank higher end monsters
-Wont die in mid cast (hopefully) if you have the right equipment for the monster your getting hit by
-8k-9k HP
Cons:
-50% cast time when using phen, this is 10% more then the above build and 20% more then a pure int/dex build... do the math... Slower cast=More hits... but you also take alot less damage from those hits... so which is better?
-I have not tested this build, but I would assume the leveling would be slower since you take longer to cast your ME
Skills:
Alright, I know I said go look into Mavs Guide for skills, but I lied... I have my own skill build ^^
Acolyte Skills in the order I obtained them:
Heal 10
Devine Protection 5
Bless 10 (raise this evenly with Agi up until agi up is lvl 5, then finish bless)
Agi up 5
Ruwach 1
Teleport 2
Warp portal 4
Pneuma 1
Aqua Benidicta 1
*If your going to get KE you need Angelus lvl 2... so atleast get that*
Thats 39 points, you can either get angelus 10 at this point, or get increase agi to 10 and change at job lvl 45. Or get Increase agi to 10 and angelus to 5 (I dont really suggest this route because angelus is kinda useless without having it maxed)
(I suggest you go for angelus 10, because even though its not as helpful in the long run as increase agi, you already will have increase agi 5 for the movement speed, and angelus is a generally all around good support skill to have)
Priest skills:
SP recovery 4
Status recovery 1
Res 1
Impositio Manus 3
Asperio 4
Sanctuary 3
Safety Wall 1
Lex Devina 5
Let Aeterna 1
Turn Undead 3
ME 10
Mag 1
Now you have a choice...
Safety wall or KE?
I say safety wall.. why? it allows you to solo in higher end areas, and that is the real point of this build.... so put 9 more points into SW making it 10... That leaves you with a whopping 3 Points left, Go nuts?
HOWEVER!: It has come to my attention from a priest who followed this build and went KE on iRO Loki (asked me to disclose his char name) That KE is quite effective at level 8X in prisons....
So this is your choice, go with KE and be a better all around ME/FS priest or get SW and be a better ME priest... If you want to have some FS ability, I now say go with KE (I have seen it in action from this priest on loki and it seems to work pretty well)...
Remaining Points(depending if you go KE or SW) points put them into:
Suffragium 3: useful in most partying situations
or
Make Impositio Manus 5: uses 2 points and leaves you with one left to possibly raise Mag one more if you find it needed
Leveling!:
Alright, now for my leveling tips
novice-> Job change: stay in novice training grounds
Early levels aso aco->lvl 20:Go smack around some poporings on poring island and get your heal skill up (I leveled here from lvl 11->23 or so and had heal at lvl 10 and started to get bless)
lvl 20->lvl 30: Payon caves, bring a mace for familiars... (prefferably a fire chain so you can fight skeltons without having to Heal bomb em.) Save the heals for the zombies, they give better exp...
lvl 30->lvl 50: Go find a leveling partner, by lvl 30 you should have heal lvl 10 and some points in Bless, and increase agi (raise them evenly)... Support your partner (prefferably a mage doing argiopes as you get closer to level 50 or a thief doing myst cases or cookies in Toy Factory)
lvl50->Job Change: Solo in Grave Yard or Find someone to party with doing some of the higher level monsters (a agi Knight or Vit knight on High orcs is great exp, and once you hit lvl 60 they should be easy to find) If your going GY Try to do Wraiths (if you have to sit and regen dont worry about it...) Ghouls arent as good exp in comparison with the SP in comparison with the exp per SP from wraiths
lvl65->lvl75: this is a tricky set of levels, you can find a wizard and do HO's in Clock Tower, or! you can solo in GH Prison, your choice (your going to spend alot of time at prison later... so... I suggest HO's so you dont bore yourself to death) ****Look for the footnote at the bottom of this section
If you can find a monk to do Turtle Island or a Crit Sin/DD sin with an Ice pick they will be your best friend... Even with 1 vit at this point in time you are able to EASILY level here... I gained about 1 lvl every hour and a half -> two hours from lvl 63-68 here... This is the best place to level and to support currently in iRO...
BUT WAIT!: so you cant find a party? tired of heal bombing? well.. you have Turn Undead dont you? USE IT! Evil druids and Wraiths will give you around .5% base exp till lvl 65 or so... after this I suggest you find a party, if you cant, then I guess TU is your best bet for now... But your probably asking yourself "well, TU only works once ever four or five casts!" this is common for casting lvl 3 TU... however, I leveled in Pyramid basement lvl 2 doing ancient mummies and I went from lvl 60-70 in 5 days...
lvl75->lvl90: you can solo Prisons easily by now, possibly doing a mob here and there of skel prisoners and zombie prisoners... If your Not going to solo, Find a Knight/LK or a Sin/SinX or even better a Int/Dex Hunter going to Niff and Pray to party with them.
lvl80->lvl?: Well, Thank you to slothrop for suggesting this area, Ayathoya Dungeon... Tams will be your best friend. After you get to job 50 this are will look mighty fine with a high base EXP rate. Ignore Krabens... WARNING: Tams do hit fast so a SW wont last very long... I suggest this place for Build 1 since you will need a faster cast to survive here... *NOTE: They cast Silence, so if your going to level her invest in a Peerless hat
Lvl 90->lvl99: ME Prisons (lots money making now^^)... This is the whole reason you made this char...
Lvl 90->lvl 99#2: Niff... Mob anything and everything... With build 1 or build 2 you will be able to survive well, cast quick enough, and survive long enough to make a good amount of money here. Also: The drops are worth every penny so pick EVERYTHING up
****Note: at level 70-75, if your equipment is not up to par, whore yourself out as a Heal Slave and make 400k-500k per hour... Or sell yourself as a tank for 300k-400k per hour. Its great money if you have the time and if you need the equipment (this is the first reason I made a FS Priest ^^)
FROM THIS POINT ON IT IS ABOUT HIGH PRIESTS
So you did it... your lvl 99... and you want to take on the long trek once again, but only this time you want to look cooler and have more people begging "heal please" right? well... youve come to the right place.... Here is my build for a High Priest aswell as my skill selection...
Build
This build is with Bless, Agi up, aswell as equipment and job bonuses at job lvl 70
Vit 41+9
Int 93+27
Dex 93+27
Luk 23+2
Str 2+17
Agi 1+20
Equipment
Apple O' Archer (+3 dex)
Erudite Sunnies (+2 int)
Saints Robe of Ares
Immune Muffler
Fledged Shoes
Phen Glove + Nimble Glove (+5 dex, cast cannot be canceled) (Use 2x Safety rings in WoE/PvP)
Double Vital Arc Wand (+2 vit, +200 hp, +2 int)
Pros/Cons
Pros:
-High Dex = Low cast time (with phen your cast time will be somewhere around 25-30%! thats right! With phen! I know you love me... I can see it in your eyes)
-High Int = High ME damage
-Good Vit, however your not a full on tank with this build...
-25 luk gives you a fairly good resistance to most status ailments, if you choose to get gloria thats another 30 =]
Cons:
-Your vit isnt amazingly high... you will run into issues if your tanking for someone in a upper level area... mind you a preist should basically never die if the party they are in is a good one...
**This stat build is fairly low vit compared to most High priests... so, if you want higher vit, drop your dex to max off at 100 and add the extra points into vit... should give you an extra 25-30 vit
Skills
You have 70 skills, thats right! 70!
Acolyte: (job lvl 49, thats right... you dont need to go job 50... theres not really any point... so why torture yourself?)

Agi up 10
Ruwach 1
Teleport 2
Warp portal 4
Pneuma 1
Cure 1
Aqua Benidicta 1
Decrease agi 1 (if you DO go job 50... put 1 more in this, just to piss off those Assassins in WoE just a lil more)
Angelus 2 (for KE)
High Priest Skills: (job lvl 70)
SP recovery 5
Status recovery 1
Res 1
Impositio Manus 3
Asperio 4
Sanctuary 3
Safety Wall 10
Lex Devina 5
Let Aeterna 1
Turn Undead 3
ME 10
Kyrie Eleison 10
Meditatio 4 (if you want this at 10, then lower KE to 4, or you can possibly go 7 in both)
Asumptio 5
Magnificant 1
Suffragium 3
The build will play much like a normal ME priest, however, your bonus SP will help greatly when doing FS... your Higher Dex will allow you to play like a full Int/Dex Priest while your Vit will still let you take on large ammounts of damage... The key difference in high priest and normal priest tho is this... KE lvl 10! thats right... KE level 10... now you will have a choice if you want to use SW or KE... mind you, your dex will be high enough KE cast time will be virtually nothing...
So there it is... for those of you who have made it to lvl 99, I give you my best regards... This build will let you be useful in PVP parties, MVP parties, as well as WoE
UPDATE!
High Priest Build 2 (WoE Based)

with this build having such high vit compared to other ME priests, therefore you can take full advantage of Assumption, if you are interested in this, go through the first few pages of this thread, Cyan has done a few videos of himself in niff, guild dungeons, ect doing ME with a good amount of vit and surviving without any problem
Alright, I updated a second high priest build into the guide, Hope you all like it
