Bleedo's Starter Thief Guide

BTW, I expect you to be starter as in I have absolutely no money!
I'm not actually stealing anybody's work... or am I? I'm just paraphrasing them to normal english.

Here's just a summary of what I have... I'm not computer savvy, so I'm not gonna make them into links... got a problem 0_o, You know what, I take that back

Links are still being set up, but the links you see... work! It may look like all links are done, but trust me, 5-12 probably still need to be branched.

I. Introduction to Thief
----------------------------
In my opinion, the best melee character that ever walked on this planet. YES!!! It is better than the swordie. He/She/You can use daggers with their thief... and truly these daggers are your best friend. Of course, thieves could also use bow BUT this is highly NOT recommended... Why? Simple, you don't have the stats or the skills to effectively use them. But rogues do. And I'll put in to the Pros and Cons of Sin and Rogue later. Thieves are known for their high aspd and high flee... and of course in most builds their high attacks. Also the godsend Double Attack /slur.

II. Novice Life
----------------------------
This is gonna be short... literally for you and for me.

First of all, I'd like to say TAKE THE TRAINING!!! WHY!?!?!? BECAUSE! It can take you to 9/7 in 30 minutes flat. Also because the training provides you with a nice [beginning] amount of cash and idea about the game.

A. Steps Out of Novicehood

1. Go through all the main room teachers... they will take you about to like 6/5.

2. When training in the novice battle grounds, die at least once for the extra exp and nov. pots you get (Once only).

3. Train in the lv. 2 (I do want some of a challenge) or somehthing like that. It's a bit slower than lv.3, but in lv.3 you'll burn out most of your nov. pots to the female thief bugs AND you could also make some 3,000z in lv.2, and trust me as a noob you'll need it.

4.Take the personality test, and it doesn't matter about the results... you can choose whoever you want to be.

Leveling Places:
a.Baby Desert Wolves: from Pront, south-south. Also known as Moc_fild01 [DON'T GET MOBBED]
b.Rockers(Burns zeny but real fast exp): from Pront, south-west. Also known as Prt_fild07
c.Porings, Lunatics, and Drops( if you skipped the noob training) From Pront, south. Also known as Prt_fild08

6. Once you hit 12/10 or 11/10 if you REALLY are impatient, head to the thief guild.

III. The Transformation
----------------------------
I suggest you bring a friend since getting to the thief guild is a challenge itself. It's in the NW corner of the map Moc_ruins (NW exit of Morroc). Inside the pyramid, the guild is in the very heart of the 1sr floor. The entrance is facing down. Now, here's the dilemma... there are a few bats hanging out, and no you can't out run 'em. You can stay away while you run for it, but the moment you stop BITE! So if you don't have even a lv. 20 friend who can clear a path for you, just try and wait for them moving out of your path.

Now once you get into the thieve's guild you can just relax and... NOPE!!! you are sent to do this small quest, it's in no way hard... just very long and agitating. They send you to this farm(coordinates given) and you have to collect mushrooms. Each shroom is either 1(for gooey mushroom) or 3 points(for net mushroom) each and you have to get 25 points in total. The farm itself is filled with chonschons, spores, and fabres and none of them are a real threat (unless they mob you real badly).
Once you have those shrooms you can go back to the guild(going through the maze of bats) and becoming a thief. HOORAY!!!

Now from here on out, I'll tackle a few sections that are needed to be known for thieves.

IV. Skills
----------------------------
The foundation of any character, I won't be copying them from RO, like most people. The skills will be listed in the order I want you to get them at the end.

A. Thief Skill Tree

1. Double Attack
Explanation: This is a passive skill meaning it's active ALL THE TIME. This pretty much just gives you a chance to double your damage everytime you attack. The more the skill level, the more the chances.
1-5% <-- don't get dissapointed when you don't see DAs here.
2-10%
3-15%
4-20%<-- should have happened to you by here
5-25%
6-30%
7-35%
8-40%<-- DAs should be frequent about here
9-45%
10-50%
Remember just because it says 50% doesn't guarantee every other attack will be a double attack, but that means you can have consecutive double attacks, just imagine your chances like flipping a coin.

FAQ break- I just found out searching roempire. Double attack actually raises the left hand katar damage!!! Here's a chart:

|a. Percentage Increment of Left Hand Katar Damage|...Due to Double Attack!
1-3%
2-5%
3-7%
4-9%
5-11%
6-13%
7-15%
8-17%
9-19%
10-21%
Isn't that awesome? Now there's even more reason for future katar buid sins to get DA! Aside from the fact you need it for the first half of your life.

2. Improve Flee
Also passive. It doesn't make too much of a difference at each level, but you'll soon notice that at lv. 10 some monsters keep missing. Since all thieves have high agi (except high thieves who are doing special builds), they also should have high flee. Flee is like the alternative of defense, and also as sort of passive endure(if you know what endure is).
1. +3
2. +6
3. +9
4. +12
5. +15<-- you should notice some difference here
6. +18
7. +21
8. +24
9. +27
10.+30<-- wanna see the difference from before? try fighting porings who have probably hit you while ignoring your flee before you touched this skill. Rockers could also be test subjects in this.

Facts: No matter how high your flee is the highest flee percentage is 95%.

3. Steal
Why do you think they name 'em thieves? Cuz we can double attack?
NO!!! This is the heart of the thief and it also leads into the great skill: hiding.
Now these aren't really true chances of stealing, these are just additives to your steal rate. Dex can affect your steal chances, too.
1-13%
2-16%
3-19%
4-22%
5-25%
6-28%
7-31%
8-34%
9-37%
10-40%
Btw flee rate of enemy also decreases steal chance... so don't expect to steal from alarms with a thief.

Facts: This may be the reason we call this character thief, but once you're a sin, this skill shouldn't be too much use to you... just like envenom is to rogues.

Edited: Sins are recommended to use steal just as rogues can. It can give you a couple of extra loot, and a better chance at getting rare items when you're hunting for 'em.

4. Hiding
Requirements: Steal Lv. 5
Like I said this needs steal first. This skill is like the novice's play dead skill except all monsters bypass play dead novices. Insects and bosses can see you while hiding. This gets a little complicated but not too much, especially if you have some grasp of the game's functions.

a. Skill Duration
1- 30 seconds
2- 60 seconds
3- 90 seconds
4- 120 seconds
5- 150 seconds
6- 180 seconds
7- 210 seconds
8- 240 seconds
9- 270 seconds
10-300 seconds

b. SP Consumption
1- 1 SP per 5 seconds
2- 1 SP per 6 seconds
3- 1 SP per 7 seconds
4- 1 SP per 8 seconds
5- 1 SP per 9 seconds
6- 1 SP per 10 seconds
7- 1 SP per 11 seconds
8- 1 SP per 12 seconds
9- 1 SP per 13 seconds
10- 1 SP per 14 seconds
I apologize for the inconveience of the reading. Now pretty much it isn't recommended to go past lv.5 hiding, so don't .

Facts: Sometimes planned rogues sacrifice envenom and go for lv. 9 Hiding... why? Because the skill that lets rogues walk when they hide(stealth) improves upon hiding, it does not replace it like cloaking does for assasins.

5. Envenom
The offensive of the active skills, it shows a mastery of the thieves-poison. This baby not only has a chance to poison your enemies, it also gives a little boost to the attack. I don't regard this as too high anymore though, since you won't be using a 150 bonus when you can dish out about 1,000 damage later with double slash , or 1,000 damage with a crit.

a. Poison Chance
1- 14%
2- 18%
3- 22%
4- 26%
5- 30%
6- 34%
7- 38%
8- 42%
9- 46%
10- 50%

b. Additional Attack
1- 15
2- 30
3- 45
4- 60
5- 75
6- 90
7- 105
8- 120
9- 135
10- 150
This could be a big help in the beginning I guess.

6. Detoxify
Requirements: Envenom Lv. 3
The last of the non-quest skills, it is pretty pure and simple. One level mastery, all it does is take your poison away.

FAQ break: Should you get this? Well, if your not gonna use too many skills it would be nice to have a detoxify just in case you get poisoned yourself... no there isn't any irony in that. Unless of course, you poisoned that enemy first.

I'll talk all about the quest skills later.

V. Practicality
----------------------------
There is no such things as priority in practicality, so my list of advice is not in order. Like my excuse?

1. Don't beg... why? Because you can get at least the same or even MORE amount of work/money than you could have in the time that you were begging. Especially since Ro members are a bunch of selfish people... Why else do you think high-level people are so rich?

2. Get a guild... quickly as you possibly can. They can and will help you, but if they don't then get out of it, quickly. You can even find a good party in guilds. Make sure the leader is at least a class 2 job. Why? Because I'm classist and we all are, plus s/he would be more able to help you.

3. Make friends with acos... Duh? Especially FS acos, they could be your party buddies, they can potentially double your potential at 2x or 3x the exp.

4. Don't be a hater. Nobody likes a someone who complains about everything and thinks they are a know it all.

5. Well this kinda contradicts #1, but this is an exception to it. Make high level friends. Most of 'em are kind enough to be friends with you, especially if you completely follow #4. They can tank you and sometimes, give you free stuff. YES, it has happened to me. But still, don't beg... let them give at their own time.

6. Don't flirt, you're not good at it. Try it when you're a higher level, when you're rich . Why? Because only 2 things really matter in relationships in ro: Humor and Wealth. And if some low level girl/guy suddenly comes up to you and says can I have some stuff? Turn her down... she's a beggar, and not worth your time, sometimes.

7. Don't brag. Sure maybe around your friends, but don't do it too much.

8. Make a merchant, as long as he has vending, you don't need a merchie friend.

9. Get tanked, but don't pay for it.

10. Love your brother as you love yourself...HAH!

11. Don't waste your time loafing around, or exploring (until you have the money). You waste valuable training time.

12. MOST IMPORTANT: DO RESEARCH!!! IT LIKE QUADRUPLIFIES YOUR EFFECIENCY.

13. Hotkey the following things: fwings, pots/healing stuff, frequently used weapons, and skills. Yes you will soon find out that you can get used to the controls(As long as you don't keep mixing up the hotkeys).

14. A good way to make friends is a nice friendly aura, with a bit of a random train of thought. Here's a quote I always say to people:

Quote:
Nothing like an imagination healthy enough to send you to the nearest psychiatric ward!
VI. Your Build
-----------------------------
Quote:

If you just mess around with your stats and skills... well It's gonna really become messed up. It's not gonna be used very well, and it'll become this hopeless mess of a char. Thief doesn't leave much space for messing up in skills but you can always mess up in stats.

These are pretty much two basic stat paths I've stumbled upon.

Standard Assasin:
Str 50
Agi 50
Dex 25
Vit Low and in 5s
Int Low and in 6s
Luck 1-20 (This is if you're going to be a crit sin)

Standard Rogue:

Str 30
Agi 60
Dex 30
Vit Low and in 5s
Int Low and in 6s
Luck 1 <--- Don't ever touch this.

Now there are other builds available, but these are pretty much you're all around stats... so if you can't decide which type of build you want, just do these until you do.

VII. Your Body and You
-----------------------------
This is gonna be short and easy... it's a lead-up to the equipment and cards section.

Head
There are 3 parts to your head. Upper, Mid, Lower.

Upper: Probably the most importanat part of the head, since it is used for the enhancement of your char.

Mid: Not too significant, it'll be filled if you wear a mask. you could get yourself sunglasses[1], but they cost as much as an Ice Pick.

Lower: Probably more insignifant that mid, but you also need it for mask. You can wear an assasin mask later with this.

Body
There are 2 parts to your body. Garment and Armor.

Garment: There is where the main elemental defense goes. You can put cards on a hood, mantle, or manteu to enhance your def against a specific element.

Armor: Pretty useful in the beginning when all you can get are cheap stuff. It's your main def until you get some good stuff. You should try to get Thief Clothes as soon as possible and Ninja Suit later on.

Limbs and Accessories
There are 5 parts in this category. These are probably the most important parts that you'll ever wear.

Feet: You can load some pretty powerful stuff on this. This can be a defense enhancer against specific type of species(such as insects, brutes, fish, dragon, angel, devil, demi-human, and undead). It can also enhance three main things: sp/hp/agi, like of course the coveted matyr card.

Accessories: When your some poor guy without money, you shouldn't have anything here. Don't waste your cash putting some worthless accessory that doesn't do anything on you. Later on though, this is gonna be a major force of increasing your stats... str, agi, dex... you name it. I suggest you get a matyr's leash for 15,000-30,000z anything more is a scam!

Right-Hand: This is where most of your cash should be focused on. If you have something expensive on this... you'll will level so fast it's not even funny. But unfortunately, you probably don't have that much money. You should just have NPC bought stuff until around lv 35+ or 40+. You should arm your weapons with at least 1 card... a card can soup up your weapon pretty good, even the cheaper ones.

Left-Hand: When you're a thief, all you'll probably need on this is a buckler for the extra def... But when you're a sin or rogue... boy oh boy. For sin, your left hand will never touch a shield again. It'll either be touching the left hand katars... or the carded dagger. For rogue though, this is where you put your main damage reducers from carded bucklers( like cranial bucklers).
-NOTE: I'd like to point out that cranial bucklers are suggested for DD sins in WoE-

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: SINCE YOU ARE A THIEF, DO NOT USE RED POTIONS DURING 1ST CLASS!!! USE MEAT!!! IT HEALS DOUBLE THE AMOUNT RED POTIONS DO AT THE SAME COST! RED POTIONS ARE MAINLY GOOD FOR THOSE VIT PEOPLE LIKE SWORDIES!

VIII. Leveling
-----------------------------
This part is pretty simple... I don't provide more than 2 leveling places for each level class... why? Because there can't be 5 very good places for leveling at one time.

Job Change--> Lv 20

Rocker
1-Rockers, prt_fild07. To get there(If you haven't seen my noob leveling guide) is from pront... south, west. Incredible exp, I suggest bringing some meat.

Baby Desertwolf
2-Baby Desertwolves, moc_fild01. To get there, from pront south, south. Also incredible exp, meat is much more needed here.

Ok here's the dilemma, both provide EXACTLY the same amount of exp, but here's the difference. Rockers have more health and defense, which means they are harder to kill. Now Desert Wolf Puppies, have less health and less defense BUT they have around 10 more attack than Rockers do and they can mob and kill you pretty fast.

Lv 20--> Lv 30

Zombie
1- Skeletons, Zombies, and Bats, pay_dun00. To get here, collect 1,200 and teleport to Payon using a kafra. Then, go one north and into the cave in the northwest corner.

Also another way to get to Payon Dungeon, is from Prontrera, South, SouthEast, East, East, -you should be at Payon by now-, then North into the Archer Village, and NW corner as I've said earlier.

Female Thiefbug
2- The infamous culverts, prt_sewb2. To get here... Go to NW Prontrera building (the chivalry place), and get recruited. Then go to west of pront and a little bit in the center along the coast will be a place where you can enter the culverts.

Now here's the tips on these places. If you want some good exp then you should head to payon dungeon, where they have massive spawns and good monsters that you could kill to gain some awesome exp. For culverts, it has even better spawn but worse exp, but the cash is awesome.

Lv 30--> Lv 40

Marina
1- Vadon, Kukre, Cornutus, Hydra, Marina, izdun_01. It's the second floor of byalan dungeon {Excluding the outside floor}. To get here, got to NE of izlude and talk to the guy who transports you to alberta... he looks like a sailor. It'll cost you 150z to get there. The island looks like a skull and you have to go north then go into the nose of the skull.

Male Thiefbug
2- You can still continue in culverts... I suggest level 3, but you should stop around lv 35 as the exp gets very very weak.

Orc Skeleton
3- When you get to lv 35, you should be able to handle Orc Dungeon 1. Just don't get mobbed by more than 3 (4 if it's bats). To get here, go to west prontrera and pay the Kafra girl to get there. It'll cost you a whopping 1,800. The loot should pay you back though, and the spawns are freakin amazing.

Elder Willow
4- Elder Willows and Smokies. Recommended from Yralyn, this place should be a nice place to level, try not to hit the Bigfoot. To get here, Smokies: 2 east of payon, Elder Willows: 1 map east and 1 map south.

Lv 40--> Lv 50

Orc Zombie
1- You can keep on going on in Orc Dungeon 1

Mi Gao
3- In louyang field, which is in front of louyang, you can try and party gaos. You should try to do so with an acolyte. Now, to get here there's two ways:

Way A: Yeah I know Way A sounds funny. Now you can go to alberta and search for a girl in a red dress, she's in the most bottom dock in east alberta. It'll cost you a whopping 10,000, but unlike Orc Dungeon you can save there in Louyang. Now you'll end up in Louyang field, so go up to Louyang first and save.

Way B: Go to the front of pront and ask for a louyang warp from priests or acos. Now bring like 1,500z or a Blue Gemstone in case the priest isn't as nice. But hell, it beats 10,000 and s/he will probably warp you to Louyang directly.

Metaling
4- Metalings. Another Yralyn recommended, you can train here until you're job change to sin or rogue. To get here go to Einbroch... first go to Juno and talk to this NPC in the center of the city (a little bit west) near the circle or something and tell her you want to board the ship. I think it costs around 1,800. After that, go south from Einbroch and you'll find a haven of metalings... a spawn of 70, which is very very high.

Lv 50-Job Change

Sandman
1- Sandmen and Hodes, in the Assasin's guild map. To get here, go two south and two east. It has incredible exp, and you will absolutely OWN with a fire damascus/stiletto. 200% damage on Sandmen with a fire weapon.

Obeaune
2- Obeaunes, Marses, A HELL OF A LOT OF HYDRA, and Cornutus. It's in byalan 3, also known as izdun_02. It's awesome here if you have a wind weapon, which well really rock you all the way through.

Zenorc
3- Zenorc. I guess you can try em, they're in orc dungeon 2. What I love about these guys are they're not agressive AND they're not mobbers. Also, they loot, which means loot for you! This place is famous for making any class rich.

Well, I guess that's it for leveling.

X. Skill Quests
-----------------------------
Quest Skills are skills that you don't get by using a skill point on em. You get them by completing a quest. All of them only have 1 level. I'll put explanation and in-depth guide to get them. Now you can find the NPC (Alcouskou) that gives you all these skills across from the room that you became a thief.
MAP:moc_prydb1 COORDINATES: 154,128

1- Find Stone
Now, while it says "Find" Stone, you don't actually pick one from the ground. You create it. It has a 0.5 second cast time and it consumes 2 sp. You can't make a stone if you have more than 50% weight, you can tell if you have more than 50% on you.

Required Job Level: 20+

Items Needed:
1 Bear's Footskin
1 Zargon
5 Spawn

2- Stone Fling
It needs one stone [from Find Stone] and it throws a stone at a monster/person. It has a 5% of stunning or blinding a target. It has a cast time and cast delay of 1 second. Cast Delay should be killed because of your amazingly high agi. It takes 2 sp.

Required Job Level: 20+

Items Needed:

Items Needed:
2 Garlet
2 Scell

3- Back Slide
It does what it says, which is move backward 5 cells backward in 1 second. Nice, if your in a mob you can't dodge em at all. It spends 7 sp and has no cast delay or cast time.

Required Job Level: 35+

Items Needed:
20 Grasshopper's Legs

4- Sand Attack
You attack with sand...wow. Well, if you've ever played pokemon, you should know what sand supposedly does. It has a 20% chance of either blinding or stunning a target, plus 130% of your normal attack with the earth property. It sounds better than throw stone, but it doesn't have range, affected by the earth property, and affected by defense, and requires 9 sp. All that plus the items are WAY hard to get. I never got this skill myself. But it's got a no cast time, and other 1 second cast delay going for it.

Required Job Level: 25+

Items Needed:
5 Fine Grit

XII. Breakdown of Stats
-----------------------------
I know this is 12, but this part is the part I understand the most. I'll breakdown every stat you need by the order displayed in your status box.

This is your status screen, here you can see a number of things that'll help you know how you're doing.

Now, this is very important... Sometimes when your job lv increases, you get bonus points on specific stats. If you want to know how much bonus stats you get on your job level, then you click on the attached file: Thief Bonus Stats.

Strength
No, this does not make your char look extra muscular. It's the main stat for the sin, and sometimes 128€for the rogue, but not as much. It may seem complicated at first, but it won't be for very long.

Strength's Uses

Attack/Damage:
Every 1 str adds 1 attack, simple, no?
Every 10 str adds a bonus attack, what do I mean? I'll break it down for you...

The original equation is: (STR/10)^2
In words: Your strenght, divided by 10, then take that number and square it.
Example: I have 60 str. I divide that by 10, so it becomes 6. I then square 6... which equals 36. So since each str adds 1 attack, my total attack added by my str is 96.

Notes: It only works in 10s... so don't say oh cuz I have 46, I have 21.16 bonus attack... instead of 16. Also, the bonus attack does not show up in your status box... so don't go look for it.

Weight Capacity:
Each str adds 30 to your total weight capacity... much simpler than the attack bonus

Vitality
It has been described as many things in other games, such as defense, health, bla bla bla.

Vitality's Uses

Vitality Defense:
1 vit def every 1 vit... simple. Vit def follows some odd formula. I have also read that every 20 vit adds some sort of defense bonus. Foggy, I'm sure. Kill that, 20 vit defense bonus doesn't apply to players.

Here, the number after the + sign is the vit def, while the number to the left of it is your armor def.

HP Recovery:
Every 5 vit increases your hp recovery... but I don't have any idea how that works, maybe like +10 hp recovery?

HP Healing Item Bonus:
Every vit increases healing items effeciency by 2%, so if something heals 100, each vit adds 2.
Every vit increases your maximum health points.

Agility
Oh my gah, did you see that guy hit? He was like WOOSH!!! Yeah, if that's what your aiming for, then this would be a good stat. Important since it is the main defense for thieves.

Agility's Uses

Flee Rate:
I'm gonna go in-depth for flee. Now to calculate your flee just add base level + agi + 1. Now to dodge ANY monster for 95% is this:

Btw, > means greater than

Flee > Monster's Lv + Dex + 79 + 1
So if I take a Smokie and I have 180 flee {Yes, I do have 180 flee}
188 > 18 + 26 + 79 + 1 ?
188 > 124... so I would dodge a smokie 95% of the time.

Now, this equation works only for 1 monster attacking you at a time. So, if 5 monsters are attacking you at a time, even if they are porings... don't expect them to miss much. Each monster attacking you lowers your chance of dodging. Flee is disabled when your stunned.

Attack Speed:

Every 6 (or so) agi adds 1 point to your attack speed, but actually each 1 point of agi adds a little bit to your REAL aspd... like you're REAL aspd is 160.5 and you add a agi and now it's 160.65. Not like the strenght bonus!

Dexterity
This has many uses and is receives much more emphasis from rogues. Sins still have need of it though.

Dexterity's Uses

Minimum Damage:
Every 5, the minimum damage is increased. I exactly know by how much though. Confused? Well, when you're a novice and you fight rockers your attack range should be about 1-15? Now let's say dex reaches 5, it would become maybe 3-15. Now for each attack it raises 1 overall damage. So from 1-15 it would become 2-16 if you add 1 attack.

Hit Rate:
Now hit rate is pretty much how much you can...hit. This is the natural enemy of flee. Each dex raises 1 hit, so does each level.

A calculator for you hit would be: base level + dex + 1, I don't know where the 1 comes from.

The more hit you have, the more chances you have of hitting something. That's why low level people can't hit high level people, even if they don't have high agi.

Bow Damage:
Dex does for archers/bow rogues, what str does for swordsmen. Raises their attack for the bow. Now there is some sort of dex bow attack bonus every 10 dex like the str. I believe the str equation and the dex equation is the same.

Attack Speed:
Raises aspd every 23-24 dex. Ouch. Luckily, dex and agi actually mix, so don't worry if your dex is like 45, and you can't reach the 23dex/aspd.

Cast Time:
Every 15 dex decreases cast time by 10%. This part really doesn't do much for either sin or rogue. Except maybe for divest rogues, since divesting has cast time.

Attack:
Every 5 dex increases attack.

Intelligence
I won't add anything about magic attack, since your not a mage. If you are, then what are you doing in this guide .

Intelligence's Uses

SP:
It raises about 2-3 sp each int

SP Recovery:
Each 6 int adds 1 int recovered every 10 seconds{if standing} or 5 seconds{if sitting}

Raising magic def:
Works exactly like vit def, each 1 int raises 1 int mdef. Each mdef reduces 1 magic damage point.

Luck
Only important for crit sin.

Note: Double attack is calculated before critical hit. So the if DA is succesful and so is crit hit, then DA will happen.

Luck's Uses

Raising perfect dodge:
Perfect dodge is not like flee. You can't see how much PD you have... it's one of those hidden things(such as str attack bonus)
Each 10 luck adds to the PD

Raising crit chance:
The number after critical is a percentage. Each 3 crit adds 1 percent.

What is a crit hit? A crit hit is pretty much a normal hit, except it ignores a monster's defense. So if a monster has no def, then your normal attack will not have any difference from your crit attack. Your crit attack is the highest possible attack you can do, ignoring defense.

So if your attack range is: 50-117, and the monster's vit def is say 20, then:

Normal attack range: 30-97 average: 63.5
Crit attack range: 100-100

Remember the maximum attack you can do with normal damage is always more than your crit, of course, if there was no defense to block it!

See the difference?

Raising attack:
5 luck = 1 attack

This is the people I have read info from. If it weren't for them, I'd never be able to have this guide(or at least part of it). I don't mention how much they contributed, just that they did. Bolded and colored

Lord Disa... But only because I borrowed that whole transfer protocol from him, not that he owns it, but that I got the idea from him... Although, his organization of his links are superb compared to mine, but hell better than nothing, no?

If you have a claim that you somehow added to this guide. Feel free to point it out, and if it's true, I'll happily add you on the list.

All monsters were taken from RO Empire Database and is therefore owned by RO Empire and their affiliates.
All items and NPCs were taken from iro.ragnarokonline.com and is copyrighted by Gravity.
All screenshots are copyright by Gravity.

Yeah, just afraid of getting sued or something for posting copyrighted images

I also recommend to go to KodomoKaze's Thief Guide... click on the title to go there. Good place to look for those 'experimental builds', but I don't heavily suggest them since they're not for the 'serious' thief.
