Wizard_Lady_Rianne's High Wizard Guide

Wizard_Lady_Rianne's High Wizard Guide
Introduction:
This guide aims to answer all frequently asked questions about the Wizard's Transcendent Class.

I. Basics of a Transcendent Class
- +30% HP and SP
- Starting status points of 100
- Increase in requirement for both BExp and JExp
- Additional Skills

High mages will still change job at the usual 68/50 (sting leveling)

II. High Wizard Skills

Mystical Ampilification/Magic Power (Active Skill) - 10 levels, Available at jobchange, 50sp(max), 40sec duration
+50% to Matk for your next spell, the most useful Hwiz skill . You wouldnt be a Hwiz if you dont get this skill. All hits of an AOE is amplified by 50%. However when used with a firewall, the next firewall damage will be amplified not the spell (e.g. Firebolt or JT) you would cast.

Magic Crasher/Stave Crasher (Active Skill) - 1 level, Req: SP Recov 1, 12sp
Deals physical damage computed with your Matk. Its non-elemental and hit success is dependent on Dex. Cards (damage increasing/status) compounded to your weapon will be in effect. A quad cursing/freezing MainGauge/Rod will have a chance to curse/freeze when you use this skill. Also note that it will hit anyone wearing a GTB guard.
- Probable usage in dealing statuses in pvp. I have personally used this skill against an opposing Wiz (gtb wielder) in WOE, it effectively distrupted his castings of SG.

Soul Drain (Passive Skill) - 10 levels, Req: SP Recov 5 & Soul Strike 7
A Hwiz will gain an amount of slain monster's sp based on level (lvl10 - 245%, + 20%sp). AOE spells does not benefit from this skill.
- High amounts of int/sp, natural Sp recovery and Magnificat would definitely overshadow this skill. Another point against Soul Drain is the amount of skill pts needed (NB 4 + SS 7 + SPr 5). A probable use may is fueling your Energy Coat.

Napalm Vulcan (Active Skill) - 5 levels, Req: Napalm Beat 5, 50sp (max)
At lvl 5 it has 5 hits, 25% chance to curse
- Maximum damage I've seen is about 1.5k. Somewhat useful in pvp/woe for its cursing effect. Would be a nice utility skill to have.

Ganbantien (Active Skill) - 1 level, Req: Sense 1 & Icewall 1, 40sp
Creates a 3x3 ground AOE where enemy your enemies ground AOE is nulified. Uses Yellow and Blue gemstone, 80% chance of success.
- When casted on top a Land Protector/Magnetic earth it will nullify only the 3x3 area. Nulifies other ground based spells. Safetywall, Neuma, Sanctuary, other sage ground spells and Some Ensemble skills of Bard/Dancer

Gravitational Field (Active Skill) - 5 levels, Req: Mystical Amplification 10 & Magic Crasher 1 & Quagmire 1, 100sp (max)
Create a 5x5 ground AOE which would last for 9 secs dealing 1.2k damage per sec (lvl5) and reduces ASPD of monsters. Uses a blue gemstone
- Gravitational Field drawbacks: Caster cant move for the duration of the spell but cannot use healing items or cast any spells.

III. Stat Builds
Job Status Bonus Points At JLV 70:
STR 3, AGI 8, VIT 5, INT 17, DEX 9, LUK 3

The Straight Forward stat build
INT 99
DEX 99
VIT 25

As the heading tells us this stat build will give you the most powerful build in terms of matk that is. However it will lack in the VIT for higher HP and status resistance. Good for MVPing and PvM. Can PvP and WOE but would have to really on an FS to generally survive

The Alternate Build
INT 93
DEX 99
VIT 40

A build lowering INT to 93 and adding more VIT for HP and a much better status resistance compared to the previous build. Note that the total int for this build is 110 which gives a optimal Min/Max Matk. You can also substitute the 2 int for a Triple Dex Staff and place it for some Vit.

The WOE Build

Best woe wizard around. Enough to reach 105 int with blessing (Both max and min matk bonus, the original for wizards) and great survivablity
These stat builds are not standards but mere suggestions on how to build your Hwiz.

Stat Building
Doing your stats as a Hwiz is very very important. Too little INT will undermine your damage dealing capabilities. But i guess you have went under the stat building of your own wizard, so you will have a good judgement on how to do it. So here is a refresher in stat building:

Get 50Int and 24Dex then follow it with your maximum Int (e.g. 78,93,99). Then put Dex to 99. Then dump the rest in vit. High power for soloing however has a bit slow casting time. Phen switching and right suff timing will compensate for this.

Get 50Int and 24Dex then follow it with either 77Int/81Int. Raise Dex to either 90/99 then continue with your maximum Int (e.g. 78,93,99). Finish up Dex (if you chose 90Dex)then dump the rest in vit. Balanced MATK and Casting time, gears should be INT based for maximum damage dealing capabilities.

Get 50Int and 24Dex then follow it with 70Int. Raise Dex to either 90/99 then continue with your maximum Int (e.g. 78,93,99). Finish up Dex (if you chose 90Dex)then dump the rest in vit. Low Matk and fast casting. Very questionable performance in soloing and partying. Low Matk means repeated casting and you would need to cast a much higher leveled SG.

IV. Skill Builds

The Straight Forward Hwiz Build
Firebolt 10
Firewall 10
Fireball 5
Sight 1
Coldbolt 5
Lightningbolt 4
ThunderStorm 1
Napalm Beat 1
Increase Sp Recov 1
FD 1 & SC 10
or
FD 10 & SC 1

Hwiz
Jupitel Thunder 10
Storm Gust 10
Waterball 5
EarthSpike 3
Heavens Drive 5
Quagmire 3
Mystical Ampilifcation/Magic Power 10
Magic Crasher/Stave Crasher 1
Sightrasher 2 & Meteor Storm 10
or
Lord of Vermilion 10

-Based upon the Universal wizard build. Using FB+FW as your main leveling tool in mage leveling. Good for PvM, WOE (precast) and PvP. Note that there is a choice between FD 10 or SC 10 and MS 10 or LoV 10. Its purely up to you to decide what skills to take.
-The build leaves you with 10 to 11 skill points to use. Possible usage can be getting Napalm Vulcan, maxing FD, maxing Quag and ES, getting GravField and Gandbantien.

Storm Gust 10
Waterball 5
EarthSpike 3
Heavens Drive 5
Quagmire 3
Mystical Ampilifcation/Magic Power 10
Magic Crasher/Stave Crasher 1

- A Hwiz build with safety wall. With the inclusion of Safetywall you could solo in dangerous places like GDs without having to rely on your Firewall. Also the safety wall can be an insurance for you if the VFW suddenly breaks. Also Safetywall can protect you for Guillotine Fists, Sacrifice/Martyrs Reckoning, and Sonic blow of an EDP sinx or berserking LK. However you would have to sacrifice an AOE namely MS or LoV to get the Safety wall.
- The build leaves you 5 skill points. Again use it in your preference Napalm Vulcan, ES or Quag, GravField. However you can drop SPRecov and Magic Crasher for 2 more skill pts.

Firewall-less with Safety wall
Mage
Firebolt 10
Sight 1
Coldbolt 5

Quagmire 3
Mystical Ampilifcation/Magic Power 10
Magic Crasher/Stave Crasher 1
Sightrasher 2 & Meteor Storm 10
or
Lord of Vermilion 10

- This is possible when you have a tank or leech throught your magehood. Also feasible when you decide to have a skill reset and drop firewall. Same benefits for the SW and getting a 2nd AOE spell.
- With the removal of firewall it gives you 15 skill pts to play with. This build would give you 4 skill pts left (+ 2 if you drop SpRecov and MAgicCrasher).

Earth Spike 3
Heavens Drive 1
Quagmire 3
Sightrasher 2
MeteorStorm 10
Mystical Amplification 10
Sense 1
Icewall 1
Gandbantien 1

- 4 skill points left over. Can be used to max out Heavens drive or Get Stave Crasher.

Insights on where to put those extra skill pts
FirePillar - Limited use in PvM and hunter traps would outshine this skill.
FrostNova - see Firepillar
Coldbolt - Mostly fire targets would get iced by this one. But note that you have Storm Gust.
Quagmire - maximizing time (25 sec) and agi/dex reduction (-50%) would be nice if you WOE or PVP . But note that its limited to 3 castings and your party/guild members are also affect ed by it. Removes AgiUp, ImprovConcen, Windwalk. lvl 3 is enough for PvM purposes.

Napalm vulcan - nifty Utility tool, a skill you can get if you do the safetywall builds.
MagicCrasher - 2 skill pts, use it or leave it. I use it to kill creamies
Soul Drain - A Hwiz cannot have too much sp. At lvl96 and 99int i have 2254sp. This skill has some merits but the skill cost is too pricey.
GravField and Gandabantien - Since iRO will be getting this one i would really want some input about this skill.

A final word is that you could always hold on to those extra skills points.

  1. Never use VIT on a HW. This make you extremely susceptible to AD.
